Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to our 2016 Placer County Teachers of the Year:

High School- Craig Waechtler (right) Rocklin High School, Rocklin Unified School District

Kim Gerould is a Kindergarten- 2nd grade Multi-Age teacher from Greenhills Elementary School in the Eureka Union School District. She is also a recent graduate of the inaugural cohort of the Tier 1 PCOE Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program. Kim is known for her dedication in and out of the classroom, as she is a leader on her campus for teacher-support and guidance. She continues to study and learn the newest methods that will benefit both her students and colleagues, and is always willing to share best practices with others. The staff at Greenhills speak very highly about her and what an asset she is to their team, as well as the students she serves. Congratulations to Kim Gerould!

Craig Waechtler has been teaching at Rocklin High School in the Rocklin Unified School District for the past 20 years. During this time he has established himself as a star amongst stars, as colleagues will note that when he speaks, people listen. He has a unique ability to connect with students, a passion for math and innovative instructional methodologies, and is a leader that establishes a team atmosphere with colleagues. His dedication, commitment and professionalism to educating students and establishing lasting relationships has vaulted him into a natural leadership role, and he is highly respected by students and staff alike. Congratulations to Craig Waechtler!
